Location
The Washwood Heath site is located about 3 miles north west of Birmingham city centre in the West Midlands, UK and is closely bounded on its northern border by railway, river and new road. Along from the gas tanks is the remains of the base work of two cooling towers that were part of the Nechells B Power Station which was decommissioned and eventually demolished throughout 1985/86. The area has now been re-developed as a leisure complex.

Aerial view from the South-east circa 1994 - note the Eurostar coaches around the site.
Motorway M6 across top right corner with the sliproads for Spaghetti Junction just in the picture at the top.
